How your replay is matched

We keep one installation per release line rather than one per build. A replay records on the nearest build we have on its own line, so a battle played on 2.3.0.1 records on our 2.3.0 client whether that is the same build or a few ahead — the client plays it the same way either way.

Lines do not cross, though. A 2.3.1 replay will not record on a 2.3.0 client, because those are genuinely different clients rather than two builds of one.

Which version is my replay?

The one you were playing when the battle happened, not the one you have installed today. Updating the game does not move your old replays onto the new version — a replay from two years ago still needs a client from two years ago, which is most of the reason this list has old entries on it.

You do not have to work it out yourself. The version is read out of the file when you upload it, and the match is made from that.

If your line is not listed

The upload is turned away and no credit is taken. Tell us if that happens — which lines we install is driven by what people ask for.
